Priorities/ Policies

1. Safe, Family-Friendly Neighborhoods

I was raised in Covington, and I plan to raise my own family here. I believe every family deserves to feel safe walking, playing, and living in their neighborhood. That means:

  • Supporting public safety funding and first responders.

  • Advocating for proactive safety upgrades, including better lighting and crosswalks.

  • Engage high school students in civic life by creating programs for public art, community service, and city improvement projects—giving them visible roles and real ownership in shaping their hometown.

2. Smart Growth & Traffic Solutions

With major developments like the Lakepointe Urban Village underway, Covington is growing rapidly. Growth must be smart and safe. I will:

  • Monitor Lakepointe's impact on traffic and public safety and hold developers accountable to mitigation commitments.

  • Push for bike- and pedestrian-friendly designs, like the SR 516 pedestrian bridge, to improve downtown walkability.

3. Vibrant Arts & Community Spaces

I believe a strong city celebrates culture, creativity, and connection. That’s why I support:

  • Expanding park access and improving existing public spaces.

  • Hosting more inclusive community events that reflect Covington’s diversity.

  • Investing in public art and creative placemaking—small changes like murals or painted utility boxes can make a big difference in how we feel about our city, and how our citizens treat it.

4. Accessibility & Inclusion

As someone living with a disability, I know firsthand the barriers many face. My commitment:

  • Ensure the city fully funds and follows through on its ADA Transition Plan.

  • Upgrade noncompliant sidewalks, especially near schools and high-traffic areas.

  • Center lived experiences when making citywide decisions so all residents—regardless of age, income, or ability—can thrive.

5. Environmental Stewardship & Sustainability

Covington is surrounded by natural beauty—and protecting it is essential. I will:

  • Support green infrastructure upgrades like stormwater treatment in Crystal View and culvert restoration at Little Soos Creek.

  • I oppose placing large-scale battery storage facilities near schools and neighborhoods. Safety, transparency, and responsible siting must guide all energy development in our community.

  • Ensure strong oversight of the environmental restoration near Jenkins Creek and advocate for timely, ecologically responsible completion.
